We will come to this later.... for now enjoy the rest of the site bah... hahhaz.....
Yoz…. Juz came back from mi auntiE’s house and collected 8 hong baos juz there alone… so it has rather been a fruitful day of collecting Hong bAos… I noe that CNY is not juZ abT collecting hOng Baos and counting the money inside buT jUz thinking of all thE reD packets that I have collected, jUz so exCited….. :p
Spent today gambling at mi aUnTie house, first was Mahjong den was “ban luck”….. hahahz once a yr onli lor…. I am not some gAmblinG addict, dun u woRry…. jUz wanted tO tRy mi lUck….. tUrns ouT that the Luck is noT very good this year lar…. I lost abt two bucks (cuz they all play max. 50 cents de….. hahahz) Played till abt 11.30 deN thE adults wanted to go home liao cuz they tired…. I more tired lor….. sTraight after Reunion dinner aNd cOuntdoWn to cNY aT mi Grandma house, we wEnt to Chinatown and River Hong Bao (at Marina Bay)….. until like 3 plus in the morning can den haf to wake up at nine to change and “pai” nian to mi parents…….
River Hong Bao was really quiet….. not as many ppl as I had expected it to be… mostly selling antiques and showcasing some Ancient China Art tradition stuff…. Quite interesting bah but juZ no drawing in of the crowds lor, except maybe for tHE really HUGE “cai shen” there which showers down some gold flakes every one hour or sumthing…. Den read mi horoscope for this year and it sounded quite alrite….. juz had to avoid certain stuff like move house and sumthing else… (forget liao….) juZ in cAse u ppl dun noe….. I born in the yR of the TIGER!!!! quite nice lar, the figurines there and they had mant shops selling foodstuff from Taiwan, China and other countries….. quite interesting also…..
Chinatown as compared to River Hong Bao was more crowded….. Many ppl still lingered on after countdown and many roads were still sealed up as the party was still ongoing after the TV telecast of the Countdown……. The items here were also going at a much cheaper price….. like 50 cents or $1 for a container of love letters etc etc…. so cheap lor and so many ppl tat we had to squeeze thru most of the roads ard there…. mEt mi neighbor there too, who still working at the VCD shop and will be packing up liao….. The stage where the Countdown was held was still holding some dance items whereby Techno music was played and many of the audiences were JUMPING along wif the music……. The place was quite strict on security…. Many police officers were on duty and road barricades were placed every now and then….But u can really feel the CNY atmosphere there cuz many of the stall owners would be shouting out their wares trying to attract customers and there was this one stall who went chanting away along wif the Techno music…. So ridiculous….. “3 for $1”, “3 for $1”… I couldn’t help laughing at them for being so silly…. And many passerby were also staring at them…. Noticed more young ppl than old aunties at Chinatown, which was quite surprising for mi cuz I thot most of them wouldn’t come to Chinatown…. kEna knocked by so many ppl cuz everyone like rushing abt trying to get all the items they can b4 they are sold out…. In the end, we bought a lot of containers of CNY goodies and spent onli like $10 lor….. 4 ppl carrying plastic bags on each hand…. Can imagine how much we bought lar…. But all not for us de…. It is for mi Father’s workers who are on guard duty during tHis period….. poor things….. really pity them can’t go out at all…. But at least still got ppl go visit them and bring them food ( actually hor mi father say is to spot-check on them de, so that they dun tou lan…. Hahhaz so evil rite….. come wif such bad intentions…. )
Okok real tired le…. Muz go slp liao…. Not enuff rest den tml cannot perform well and today I learnt a new lesson too…. Cuz I haf many relatives hor and sometimes it gets really confusing to the aunties who they haf given to and not given yet…. So mi and mi sis came up wif a new system….. The moment a family walks into a house rite, we stand at the door and shake hands (basic courtesy mah….. also to get noticed lar…) den when they start giving out Hong Baos, we purposely stand near to them as they give out so we dun “lugi” and won’t get missed….. LOLZ….. clever rite??? Today we tried it liao…. As one of the Auntie was giving out the Hong Bao hor, we purposely stand nearby den we start to call out the name of whoever is standing nearest to us and like tell them something loudly, den the auntie sure to notice u de and won’t miss u out liao….. hahhaz actually hor we also considered helping them lor, cuz later miss us out le, den not beri nice mah…. Rite??? Worst thing today, the first empty Hong Bao I ever received in mi life….. In the mist of confusion when giving out Hong Baos, one of the auntie actually gave out empty red packets to us lor….. wah liu…. Worst part is we didn’t noe until we reached the car by then hor too late liao lor, left the place le…. Den when we reached our next destination, the three families traveling together (mine, my father’s sister, and mi father’s brother families, we are the more closer wans lar….. considered one family) then started to discuss who was the culprit cuz hor one family two out of three kids got money inside de, den another family one out of three kids got money inside de, mi family the worst de, NONE of us got money inside that particular red packet)
Okok gtg slp liao… will upload whatever fotos we took soon so look out for the, k…..?? nIteZ….
